Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

Medicare Supplemental plans, or “Medigap” plans, denoted by the letters A through N (e.g. Medigap Plan A), are coverage provided by private insurers to cover the gaps in Original Medicare. These gaps include:

  • Deductibles

  • Copayments

  • Coinsurances

• Must be enrolled in Original Medicare Part A and Part B
• Can enroll starting from the first day you are 65 and enrolled in Part B
• Some States allow enrollment before age 65.


What does Medicare Supplement include?

What the plans must include:

  • Part A coinsurance costs for an additional 365 days following exhaustion of Original Medicare

  • Part A hospice coinsurance/copay

  • Part B coinsurance/copay

  • First 3 pints of blood used in a treatment
